[ARCHIVED THREAD] - limewire + firewall

i cant even get the limewire program to SEARCH songs anymore... i could search any big name, metallica, godsmack and nothing comes up. at the bottom of the limewire screen theres a little icon and it says "limewire has detected a firewall"

is my firewall preventing limewire from even searching?

i didnt even know i had a firewall....

Yeah actually it could. I have mine set up so that when I do something new like use limewire for the first time, it asks whether I want to let it access the web and lets me set up settings for it. If you dont tell your firewall that its ok for that program to access the web then it wont work.

mine has been doing this lately too, but it didnt do it the first two or three months i used it.

Mine worked for over a year and then a few weeks ago just stopped working. I reinstalled it and it worked for an hour before it wouldn't search anymore.

limewire + firewall = a good combo...

if you had

limewire + disabled firewall = all kinds of Trojans and viri..

Well hell just limewire = all kinds of bad stuff...

Just remember in the computer world there is no such thing as a free lunch..

So quit stealing music!

hey ive only downloaded songs from cds ive already bought. you tell me where i can find another copy of nuclear assault's survive on cd and il gladly buy it.
