I quit using Mint after they decided to preach politics on their main news page. It was shortly after version 7 was released. I don't remember the exact issue but it rubbed me the wrong way at the time. Since it was just a rehash of Ubuntu with a few extra out of box features that could easily be added to Ubuntu I just went to the source. There is a much larger support system for Ubuntu so when you run into questions like this they are easier to find answers to.

I've gone back to XP for gaming purposes. I never got around to messing with virtual boxing. Since Mint is based on Ubuntu most of the Ubuntu instructions for fixing something work with minior tweaking. If the Mint forum don't have an answer for you check out the Ubuntu support forums.

Ok some things aren't clear.

You have mint on another hd hooked up to your computer, and you also have virtual Box the program installed on the OS you are on now?

What OS does the machine boot to?
When you are on that OS that the machine boots to do you see virtualbox.
Can you launch virtualbox?
