Quoted: http://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/04/david-hathaway/your-2nd-amendment-cop-buddy-will-take-your-guns/ There is a lot of chatter amongst conservative "2nd Amendment cops" and military folks about how they will not obey the orders when the grand pronouncement is made to take guns. It will be a cop sit out. What will really happen is quite different. Your Republican cop or military buddy will gladly and patriotically take your guns. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Interesting. Written by a former DEA Agent. Many of the ARFCOM Law Enforcement Community have shown that they will be on the grab Pensions and Payrolls have overtaken the Constitution |

Depends on the individual. There are around two million people in this country in law enforcement. To say that all of them are going to do x or y or z is full blown retarded. When you put it in those terms, yes you are correct. But if you had to bet your life on what 70 some odd percent in LE would do.... |

Oh really? Thanks for telling what I'm going to do and not do. Another "local police departments will be charged with carrying out some federal gun confiscation" thread. Neva bin dun befo. Ive typed out nice long responses to this nonsense in past threads, I'm fucking done now. Go on, keep believing when Borg Obama hands down his high order it's gonna skip over ALL the federal resources and fall on Joe Patrolmans shoulders.

Paycheck and taking care of family trumps someone else's rights. Simple History. Quoted:

I don't really need a former .gov employee to tell me this, but ya no shit. Paycheck and taking care of family trumps someone else's rights. Simple History. military = threats of UCMJ. there really isn't a damn thing they can do to say no. cops can quit, but most will take the paycheck and their 401k. come tomorrow, they still get to carry their gun. |

I just hope that, regardless the actions of the ones who DO confiscate, the guys who resign, retire or refuse will be welcomed with open arms and employment by everyone afterwards. It would be a shame to see the good guys who did the right thing be shunned and their families put out as a result. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

IF it ever came to that, all the guys with their feet on the ground would know is they are being sent in to raid an extremist domestic terrorist baby-killer or some-such.
They'll be high fiving each other after. I anticipate widespread willful ignorance, not active disregard for constitutionally protected rights. |

There is a lot of derp out there. I have no doub that a lot of LEO will follow orders if they do indeed come. I have a buddy who is National Guard. I asked him if he got the order to confiscate would he? He said yes, if his superiors ordered him to do it he would. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

County I live in has over 3 million residents living in just over 1.3 million 'homes'... There are also a ton of businesses and other buildings. There are about 2000 officers in the county if I estimate correctly...
Would take a DAMN long time to carry out OP's hypothetical grab. Sorry GD... Door to door ain't gonna happen, put the tops back on the PMags and zip your pants up, you're an embaressment to tinfoilers.

It won't be the National Guard it will be the local police! Maybe the National Guard will be called in to handle all the calls for service, car crashes, reports, traffic enforcement, and general patrol while your local police at busy taking guns on a federal order, but no way will NG be taking guns *Thats sarcasm by the way* |

Quoted: Yep they already have a plan at mine. Quoted: Quoted: ![]() I can honestly say my department would fight back if a confiscation order came down. I won't give up mine and I don't expect law abiding citizens to give up theirs Yep they already have a plan at mine. Seems odd to have a plan at a PD when other LEO's here insist the whole thing requires tinfoil wrapped real tight. Kind of a juxtaposition, isn't it? |

Aguilerra(?) said the Davidian compound was a meth lab on the warrant. I don't think they officially went there for guns but it has been a while since I read anything Waco related.
How would the cops know they are confiscating guns when the warrant says rendering aid and support to Al Queda or something seditious? |
