Had one today, really don't want to discuss right now but would like prayers. |

i had one a couple years ago on a friday. The surgeon called me in to his office on monday to tell me I had lymphoma. He said dont go run to the web to look it up, theres 37 kinds of Lymphoma, full results will tell us which kind, then you will do chemo/radiation. Swell. I went home early and spent the day with my wife, called my son and let him know the news. 2 days later, the real doctors seemed to come in and ruled its not Lymphoma, its fucking cat scratch fever.
I felt like the boom tiss guy, .No treatment needed, except painkillers for the removal of the groin lymph node that was swollen. its called a medical practice, because they are running with assumptions . 2 years later I am fine. Dont sweat it till you know, then wait a couple days for them to change the report. |

She had swollen lymph nodes that wouldn't go down which led to an ultrasound, then at CT scan, which she had an allergic reaction to the contrast. Referral to a different doctor who order a PET scan, which identified several "hot" lymph nodes. The recommendation instead of doing a biopsy was surgery to remove the "hottest" lymph node. After months of worry, and the surgery, it ended up being toxoplasmosis with no further treatment needed. Best wishes, hopefully yours is also nothing. |
I had Nodular melanoma cancer and they put the dye in my back, where the cancer was and it went to my lymph nodes under my right arm, they removed them,(3) and a large piece of my back meat. and did a biopsy came back clean. so it did not spread to the lymph nodes. keep yer chin up. I will say a prayer for you Sir. |

I will say a prayer for you Sir. Hey, I've done hundreds of those tests! It's a great procedure. Even when the biopsy comes back positive removing the lymph nodes "catches it" before it spreads further 50% of the time. Not bad when the prognosis for metastatic melanoma is so shitty. |

Been there man.....with a heart surgeon to go in and get them in my chest.
pain in groin area...pain in arm pits....pain in jaw....and behind my ears. woke up after 3.5 hrs on the table at St. Lukes in Houston.... they said "you don't have cancer"...I said "then what the F is it?" Sarcoidosis...... Prayers to you..... |

Yes it I had it in the lymph nodes. It is NOT an automatic death sentence. Yes radiation and chemo are a purple bitch, but you just have to hang tough. The advances in therapies in the seven years since my treatment are impressive. My understanding is that the cyber knife radiation is huge improvement over what I got and much easier to endure. Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor here. About 18 years ago.
Like everyone else has said, be positive. Always. Regardless of the outcome, which will be something negligible I'm sure, use this as a learning experience for your life. My goal when I was being treated (40 days of radiation treatment) was to make the radiation techs laugh, which I was able to and it made me feel good. I looked forward to going in and seeing them laugh. When I was done with treatment I took them all out to dinner to celebrate. I'm a better man now. You will be too. |
