You all see the story about this missing 2yr.old boy ? Grandma took him and his 4yr. Old sis for a hike in the woods and supposedly he wandered off when she wasn't looking.
How far could a two year old go? Search teams have been looking since Thursday and not found him. Foul play or have they walked by him? |
Kids can travel a hell of a long ways. I had a post here a while back called "Missing 411" and there were some examples of kids going quite a ways before they were found.
The woods can sometimes be worse than a big city when it comes to getting lost. I wonder how far she went before she noticed, because I would expect them to be within earshot. BTW: Here's a link And here's the search area: Google Maps |

How far could a two year old go? Search teams have been looking since Thursday and not found him. Foul play or have they walked by him? I would say 24-48 hours is as long as a 2 year old could survive in the wilderness alone. Dehydration alone would kill him but with the cold weather I say he's dead. Now whether is was a accident or foul play I dunno. Could be but at the same time I can see a old lady loosing track of a fast footed toddler. Plus even if they searched the area of he's in the wilderness there are many animals that could have their way with a 20-30lb kiddo

I said it last night. That boy is dead. Yeah I'm afraid this is the case. The weather the past few days alone would be enough to kill the boy the first few hours of being gone, and wildlife could've taken care of the rest. That poor grandmother and her family must be....well no words really for that. |

Im thinking surely a 2yr old isn't going to far in rough terrain. . What are we talking about. ... a 2 mile radius max ? I'm no expert on search and rescue. I've only contributed to one, and that was along a river in the winter time. That said, from stuff I've read in the past, it would seem logical to do a 1mi radius immediately then extend to a 2mi, then 5mi after that. The guys we searched for almost a month IRRC and they finally floated up only a couple hundred yards downstream from where they crashed. |

Im thinking surely a 2yr old isn't going to far in rough terrain. . What are we talking about. ... a 2 mile radius max ? The terrain is very hilly and woody (thick!) in that area along with soggy farm fields and a small stream. Thurs night and Friday night I think the boy could have survived if he is out there. Rained some Thurs. Many different dog teams, 1000's of searchers both volunteer and professional, countless helicopters equipped with FLIR, have not turned up a single clue. It's cold as hell with temps not getting above 25 today, 12 last night, 11 tonight. He has on jeans and a long sleeve shirt. He is now dead if he is out there which I and many others are starting to have a hard time believing. I have a 15 month old grandson and this is making my heart ache |

I'd rather be lost just about anywhere than lost in the hills of Tennessee. If it's an overcast day and you get turned around they all look the same. The search currently is only covering an area of about 1000 acres and every night some of the search teams are getting lost! |
| From what the radio said today the family is acting like it's business as usual. The radio said today that the family wasn't worrying about the search and was seen pouring concrete after the two year old disappeared. I hope the boy isn't dead I fear he is though. I couldn't imagine that being my son...I would die |

Not sure if it's the same where the boy is, but here in E TN the coyotes are running everywhere. A coyote would see a 2 year old as prey. I hope is he found ok. West Tenn south of Jackson outside of a small community of Pinson. Yes we have lots of yotes here also |

Im thinking surely a 2yr old isn't going to far in rough terrain. . What are we talking about. ... a 2 mile radius max ? A kid that age will sometimes panic when they get out of sight of the adults. If they do, they're likely to run in a panic until he exhaust themselves. Little kids can cover some ground in a panic. Prayers sent that by some miracle the child is found alive....but given the temperatures it's a long shot. |

I've got an 18 month old grandson, every time I've gone outsides & felt the cold I got misty eyed. We are no where near as cold as where this little boy is.
This kind of stuff just breaks my heart. I'm not much of a praying man but I've pleaded for this little boys safety. It's seems a little to late now. |

| Grandmas story sounds like a fairy tale. A two year old isn't going very far in the woods. The leaves are down and all the undergrowth is gone this time of year. You can see a long way in the woods. An army of deer hunting necks plus Leo's can't find that kid? He's not there. |

I've grown up in the big hills and can find my way much easier than I can on flat terrain. At least on hilly terrain you can climb and get a point of view, or follow a draw down and find water. Put me in flat terrain and I'm lost.
I always thought this area south of Jackson was flat as a board. I know north of Jackson it is, anyways. |

Just like my ex coworker did when he was burying his dead wife in his tool shed. |

Authorities previously welcomed the help of hundreds of volunteers to search for the boy. For a brief time, officials reported six of those volunteers had also gone missing, though WMC-TV reported they were waiting for help after one of them was injured http://www.ajc.com/news/news/national/crews-continue-searching-missing-west-tennessee-2-/np65B/ |

I couldn't imagine that being my son...I would die That is really, really strange and gives off some really creepy vibes. That said, it almost seems too obvious. Surely they would think doing concrete work would look suspicious right after their toddler went missing if they were in a sane frame of mind. Maybe this is a case of the family simply being in denial and refusing to accept the circumstances, therefore they are just going on with their lives as if nothing has happened. Stuff like that is pretty common actually, especially when it involves the potential death of a child. I know a woman who lost a teenage son to a car accident. She knew he was dead. But still, she sat by the window for days afterward, waiting for him to come home. Sometimes it just takes a while for family to accept that the death of their loved one as something real, rather than a nightmare they will awake from. Regardless of the circumstances, this is terribly sad. It is suppose to hit 0 degrees in my area of Kentucky tonight. I imagine it will get just about as cold over a good chunk of Tennessee. I can't even stand the thoughts of a little two year old being lost in such weather. Granted, the kid is probably already dead if lost in the woods. Man, what a terrible situation. Fuck. |

Yeah I'm not going to judge these folks too much just yet. If I wasn't out searching for my kid, who knows what I'd be doing. For all we know, given current trends, the cops could've told the family they weren't allowed to search or something. If that were the case, I'd probably have an entire house built by this time. |

Second photo down, expand Amanda Beth Goodrum's thread. https://www.facebook.com/TBInvestigation/ Interesting, but this woman could easily be stirring shit up as well. For all we know she could be the local Nancy Grace. There was another person involved in the search who said he couldn't see very far. Granted it was at night. My first thought on reading about this yesterday was that a cat got him. Here's the last two quotes I've read so far. She's posting more than anyone in that thread. They said the dogs returned to the home, but the storm shelter is being built right behind it, I actually watched a k-9 walk by it yesterday and the dog pulled towards the storm shelter, the officer pulled the dog back and made him walk towards the woods... I couldn't sleep last night after searching yesterday, something isn't right, they were burning garbage yesterday- I just feel like we are giving them more time to cover up, we should be searching but also investigating I've also been reading of people saying their physic relatives and prophets have been saying he was by a big rock and u have to step down to find him? Well the concrete could be considered a big rock and u would have to step down to get inside of it |
