got this email from a friend of mine this morning

any ideas??

Does anyone know how to get the smell of moth balls out of clothes?  Someone gave me some cool weather baby clothes and now I'm getting them out and washing them and they reek of moth balls. (whoever gave them to me had them stored that way apparantly)  I've washed them twice...the second time I put vinegar in the wash, that helped a little but they still have a strong odor to them.

this was all I could find quickly. It says to hang or lay them out in the sun until the smell is gone. Note, it may take several days to do accomplish this.

I've never smelled mothballs.  How do you get their little legs to spread wide enough to get a whiff?

1/2 C baking soda in with the regular detergent, then add 1/2 C vinegar to the rinse water.  Wash normally after that.  Should work.
