Yeah. Finger-nails.  They come out when you pull  the little metal spike that was used to hold the finger down to the wood floor.

yes, it's a nail puller that appears to be missing the slide weight thats used to extract nails imbedded in wood

if I knew it was incomplete , I wouldnt have bought it

They are the only way to pull nails out of that old press/fiber siding without busting it apart.
