When I worked for the Port Authority of NY&NJ, they figured a fall from 50 feet or more on a hard surface is almost always fatal.
That's years of bridge maintenance (George Washington and three between Staten Island and NJ), that they base this on. You always hear about some teen falling out of a window high up, and only breaking a leg, but they landed in the bushes. |
