That's what I thought personally, I was constantly being pulled out of the experience because things just didn't make sense, maybe like an above poster said it simply went over my head, but I kind of doubt it.

Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman are two people I will not pay to see. Honestly, if the movie was free on youtube I probably wouldn't watch either. Judging by the box office results, I am not alone. Fuck them and FBHO.

I thought it was okay, but not what I expected at all.  I saw it on a flight so I didn't have many choices of what to do.

+1

Plus the movie was slow as hell and they dragged it out forever.  Tom Cruise flying around in some jet copter for what seemed like half the movie...boring.  The idea could have had huge potential but they wasted it on this movie.  It's like they put 2 big name actors in 15 minutes of acting and then added 2 more hours of fluff.

I liked it.

I like the Director's architecture and design background.

He's got a cool aesthetic.

It's the same director as TRON: Legacy, which suffered the same kind of deal: looks great, but the bones of the story can't support the visuals.

Still worth seeing and for me, owning.

Yup.

Big AI thingy sent here to oversee the extraction of Earths water to an offsite source. Sally was just a CGI rendering to put a face to the AI during human interaction. Copied from the mission control director of the ship the real Jack was abducted from.

It was ok as a movie, but visually it was great, once again Daniel Simon knocks it into orbit with the futueristic product design.

I'll chalk it up as one of my favorites, like Tron and Iron Man, I want to sketch and design after watching these movies. Anything that gets the creative juices going and makes me want to create is worth it.

I liked it.

I'm starving for good original Sci-Fi which is few and far between these days so I probably gave it more of the benefit of a doubt than I otherwise would.  You can hardly find movies these days that aren't way too soon remakes, derivatives or straight up sequels of properties from the 80's and 90's.

I thought it was a great movie, however since TET was a big computer would it not just get all the same feeds from the drones and flying machine that the "communications" girl gets?  Not much point in having her, and TET would know his every move.

Ok Movie.  ***Spoiler*****  First 5 minutes we're told the Earth was attacked by aliean and we destroyed everything with nukes.  Somehow after everything is destroyed we have the capability to build these massive seawater converters and a huge ship that will take everyone to Titan.  enjoyed it for what it was.

"Are you an effective team?"

Perhaps it decided since humans are social creatures techs would perform better with companionship. As opposed to a lonely and depressed tech just moping around.

Came out today.

Dug it when I saw it in theaters I saw that twist coming a mile away and leaned over to my friend about 15 minutes in and told him what was up.

I will eventually pick up the blu-ray.

I thought the same thing.

We destroyed the earth; after that we have the logistical capability to build a huge space station and space ship to take us to Titian.

I'd assumed technology had been scavenged from captured alien hardware. Necessity is the mother of all creation. If the planet has become inhospitable they would find the capital to do what was needed to survive.
