Just wondering where to find out if any of these old ammo boxes, still with ammo in them are worth anything.

Federal still makes cardboard hulls for their Gold Medal target ammo...

(I have a few boxes of old winchester and remington shells w/ cardboard hulls, but not for sale)

That's interesting.

I remember the old stories of the hulls swelling up in the chamber when they got wet and having to poke them out with a stick.

Then along came plastic.

Yeah, ammo boxes have to be a lot older, and contain a lot more eclectic cartridges than that to have value.

Why not shoot it?  The .22 will probably be bad though...  In my experience, old 22 is the least reliable.

So half the 45 ammo turns out to be WWII steel training ammo. Thought it was steel core, just steel jacketed.

I see these pop up on gun broker and one other site all the time. Just thought they might be worth enough to replace them with new ammo.

Worth shooting, that's all.  Most of that stuff isn't over 25 years old, some less, and a couple a little more.
