After a car accident in 03 I had a cathider in my unit for close to 6 months. Did yon know that your bladder, like your muscles will atrophy? After six months of my bladder not having to do any work, when I finally had the cathider removed, I had to re-potty train myself.
At 19 years of age, and sitting in college algebra, pissing your pants is about as embarrassing as it gets. |

Had Button TURP about 6 weeks ago (still home on sick leave), catheter needed for 24hrs to ensure my raw plumbing didn't seal shut.
I'm somewhat pain-tolerant (had a broken forearm reset w/o anesthetic) but even on Norco I nearly hit the ceiling when they pulled the catheter out across the open surgery site. 
Next time, just kill me. Please...

I had one after a spinal surgery, was surprised when I came to, did a function check, toes move, feet legs, I'm breathing, etc.
After a while I noticed the bag on my bed rail. Made a deal with nurses, if I could get up and walk the ward, Doc said it could be removed. No pain at all, but it was done after a shot of dilaudid. Was about 16 hours post op. And, I 'peed' about a litre on my own after removal, or I was told it was going back in, I was out when it was inserted, of course. |

Thank GOD everyday he blessed me recovery. |
