I'm trying to remember a quote from one of the founding fathers. I can't remember the entire quote or which founding father it was. It goes something to the effect of "Its impossible to reason with men who come to their conclusions with out reason" |

Quoted:
Jonathan Swift. Franklin was likely quoting Swift. http://www.quotationspage.com/quotes/Jonathan_Swift/ It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into. Jonathan Swift Interesting... After a bit of quick research, it does appear in Swift's writings earlier than it can be traced to Franklin's. Thanks! Sig line changed... |
