I have an unused android phone using IP webcam. When on I can pull up the camera as long as I'm on my wifi network.  My problem is that I want to be able to view it when I'm out of the house. My router settings don't include any port forwarding function. Tech support suggested using a virtual server weren't allowed to help set one up. So I'm kinda stuck does anyone have an idea on how to make this work?

Thanks

Unfortunately the easiest option is to replace your router with one that has the port forwarding option, and then get a static address from your ISP or use DDNS.

What kind of router do you have? Port forwarding has been standard on most entry level routers for quite some time.

Any chance that you are able to change the port of the IP webcam to an open port?

Sorry it took so long to get back here.

The router is a Sagemcom fast 1704 modem/ wifi router.

I did dig out my WRT54G. I'm thinking I'll turn off the wifi on the 1704 and use use the Linksys for wifi and port forwarding.

Is there a chance my new plan will work?

that thread shows all about the 1704 virtual part.

you could also set that camera up to be on DMZ
