| Someone was telling me about a part you can order for modifying sks to accept ak mags but I can't find any info on it. Can anyone please advise? |
Have another bottle of booze and take a chill pill, you will live longer and be happier. |
Ten rounder's better... And to the OP, there is no such product. |

I've seen people modify (i.e., actually modify the gun -- not drop in parts) an SKS to take AK mags, but I've never seen anyone say that they were successful in making a 100% reliable SKS doing this. I've never seen drop in parts to make an SKS take AK mags, but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist. I can tell you this though -- if you want a reliable SKS that takes AK mags, you might as well just save yourself the trouble of trying to modify one, and track down an M or D model SKS, which take AK mags from the factory. |
| I once saw a guy that did just this. I am sorry that I dont remember the details. I do remember that it took a long time for him to explain his work. It seems to me that for the amount of time, effort and money you would invest, just buy a Romanian parts kit and build an AK |

There isn't a drop in product to my knowledge. I know of a few people that have done some machining work done to their receiver so it takes AK mags. I don't know how reliable it is, and if something screws up, you're less one rifle. There are those crappy detachable SKS mags that give just about everyone trouble... Then there are the few newer Chinese SKSs that come from the factory ready to accept AK mags, but last I heard they go for 1000 easy. So, your best bet is to stick with the 10 rounder that came with your rifle and learn how to load stripper clips. |
More like 350-500 for the SKS D/M |
I did see one last show, the guy said there were not a lot of them imported and he was asking $800. My answer to that is 2 ak's are better than one sks. |
no shit, you can open any thread and be sure you'll see it. |
