We spend money for our own ARs what about doing a group buy for the troops.  I saw the post about the vortex flash hidders and that got me thinking.  What if we were able to send the troops a care pack of sorts.  We have a ton of members here and group buys happen all the time.  This does not have to be AR stuff or it can be.  I dont know anything about sending things to the troops.  If we can get some members involved, those who know the process then Im willing to throw in some green.

Best to get with a recruiter of your choice. Find a unit in theater and send it to them your self. I have done a couple group ones and there more pain than there worth.
To date I have sent over 20 packages. Mostly real deal field stuff they need and not candy , socks and magazines. Though they can use those to an extent.
Nothing like a good pair of quality sunglasses, overseas phone cards, leatherman tools, Marlboro reds, etc. to make there day. No porn, booze or perishables.

I'm a broke college student but I try to donate a little bit here and there. Americansnipers has some cool patches you get when you donate to them.
