but can you take the chl/ccw shooting part of the test using a laser?

Yep I did it. Had my gun fully decked out that day. Compensator with laser sight, and dual spring recoil spring.
All the guys had to look and make fun of it.
Glad I had it honestly. I picked fiochi ammo that day for my .40cal, and it jammed almost every other round. Because of the laser sight, I still passed the test, for instructors.

I suppose it depends on the state, however the several states that I am familiar with only shoot at 21 feet. If you need a laser to hit a siloute target at 21 feet....well.....use it I guess.

ETA: My HighPoint 45 rocks! It's accurate and has NEVER failed to go bang when asked.
