ETA:  Anyone know how to substitute a word for the link?  (but the link still go to where it needs to go?)

Example from above link:  Instead of having the URL, have it say "movies"??

Wait.  I think I'm dumb.  When I posted that original, I clicked the "hyperlink" button.  Was that the correct thing to do?  Because when I just tried doing what you said, it didn't give me all of those brackets and whatnot.  Just the URL.  The interwebz is hard

you can type out all of the [ url][ /url] stuff or click the hyperlink button at the bottom of the text field.  The hyperlink button will ask you what words you want to display first, then ask for the link.  If you leave the first popup blank, the actual http://www address will appear

Ok, so when I click the "hyperlink" icon, Which fields do I use/not use?  The way I did it originally, I used the top field only and left the rest blank.  I checked the "source" one and and pasted the link in the righthand box. And I left the one that says "bookmark" unchecked.  I also left the fields for "target" and "title" blank.

Ok, finally!  And thanks!  I just decided to handtype the code in like you suggested.  I made me a little Post It note and put next to my mousepad, so I don't fook it up, LOL.  Thanks for your help and patience

When you are replying to a message, are you clicking the globe with the chain link on it?  It's highlighted below:

That's the first popup I get, with the text you want to be linked.  The second pop up is for the web address

Hmmm. That looks different than what I see.  The chain link icon I see is at the top of the dialog box.  Does it matter if it's starting a thread as opposed to replying to a message?

shouldn't matter.  probably just using different browsers.  I am using Chrome.  Judging by your grasp of technology, can I assume you are using Internet Explorer (IE)?
