OK, just gotta share.
My guard unit got mobilized in late February.
Since then no BAH. Submitted the paperwork, nothing.
Until today. Just checked my LES
It all catches up on the 1st.
Oh, and I just got promoted two days ago.

That is all.

It's still fucked up though.  Not as bad as when the first units were being activated and about 97% of activated Reserve Component Soldiers (both Guard and Reserve) had some sort of pay issues.  The RC pay system is so out of date it's not even funny.  Still done by hand, on paper.  It barely works for getting people payed on time just for their monthly drills during peacetime.  Totally screwed up when it comes to activated troops in greater numbers than about 5.

I hear you.  I changed orders a couple months ago and even with no break in service I went six weeks without pay.  Good thing I know how to save a few bucks and not live paycheck to paycheck.

I swear that must be where they stick the low scoring people.  And it's even worse in the Guard than it was in the Regular Army.  At least there, I didn't see people go over a year before getting their pay for being promoted.  A month to let everything catch up, ok.  A year? Pure bullshit.  And it's not like it was just one person screwing Soldiers.  It's been in different units, whith different Readiness NCO's.

First 2 months of our call up for deployment to OIF2 I didnt get any pay, talk about pissed off, 3 kids, married a mortgage and no money. Finally someone at Finance pulled their head out of their ass, congressmen can do amazing things.

There are entire departments w/in the military infrastructure that deal with nothing other than Congressional inquiries. Wonderful, a new bureaucracy to fix the broken bureaucracy. I wonder if they even want to fix the problem or just want to make the symptoms less obvious.
