wife wants an uzi, would like your thoughts, opinions....ect. don't know much about them and want to make an educated purchase. she loves the look and has been wanting something in 9mm. thanks for any and all help Norman |

Vector UZIs are pretty good deals. IMHO....I've owned several 9mm semi carbines: Colt 9mm AR, SW5 9mm, though they both ran good, they seemed kind of useless in semi auto. If I were you I wouldn't buy a semi 9mm carbine, but I'd get a good 9mm pistol (Glock 19 or 26) and spend the rest of the money you saved on ammo to practice with. My .02 |

okay, I quess we're missing the point here. she's not hanging anything on the wall, she does not want another pistol, she wants an uzi. the same way she wated her AR15 and her S&W 40VE. I want her to have what she wants and want to make the best decission we can. haven't you just wanted a gun for no paticular reason other than "I want one". |
My wife and I both grew up in Canada and she was never exposed to guns. Ironically, the two guns she likes the best are my Ruger GP100 .357 (home defense gun) and semi Uzi Carbine. The first time she shot it, she slowly emptied the magazine and got a tighter group than I ever have. She turned, smiled and asked if I had another magazine which I promptly handed to her.

if we decided to build a kit, who makes receivers or parts kits for that matter? the wife loves the recoil. shooting my FAL makes her smile big time. she's more excited about the arrival of the AR50 than I am, maybe! the noise, the blast and the recoil are just some of the things we love most about guns! |
got me on that one, but i see em for sale in the shot gun news fairly often. |
hahaha ![]() ![]() Nice |
Your're very lucky to have a wife that want's an UZI. Most women are hung up on shiny rocks. |
You are a good husband, (Do ya have a brother? LOL) |

DONT BUILD. Its not worth your time. I built one and by the time I was able to get all the SA parts and be 922r and Michigan compliant I was in the hole for over $800 and I was able to get a lot of good deals. You can buy a fully built one with a nice finish for under $600 with a Vector. Thats the only reasonable way to go. The build took less then 20 minutes once I had all the parts so the joy of building wasnt there either. The most difficult part was to rivet the extractor into the receiver. But the rivet is pretty soft and you really just need the right tool to hammer in it and put a nice round cap on it. |
I find that to have been a central theme in things I've been interested in over the years. In short, I've determined that I like loud dangerous stuff. Guess that's why I like Shaggy's HK51 so much.... |

Kind of like Marge on the Simpsons, when Homer brought home a gun. |
