how many watermelons have you purchased this year and how many have been good?
i am talking a nice juicy red melon that smells like it should, tastes sweet and is not mealy around the seeds.

i just spent $4.00 last night and got another shitty melon.  it looked fine, thumped like it should but when i cut it the melon was soft around the seeds and tasted chalky and bland.  i cut the heart out of it and thru the rest in the trash

that makes 5 bad melons out of 6 this year.

i just want to know if this is a bad year for watermelon and if i should try to take it back to the store and get my money back.  i just want to know if this is a bad year for watermelon and if i should try to take it back to the store and get my money back.

i am tired of paying good money for shitty produce.

I havent gotten one this year.

Where you getting them, some places to the ~150% back if your produce is bad thing

i had 2 really good melons this month. Reminds me of my time on Korea where they would cut a sample of a melon for the asking, there was no guesswork - you always got a good melon.

It has been a crappy year for watermelons. To much rain.

Tannerite or make a Fire melon with it (no sense letting it go too waste... bad melon or not).

Maybe you should try eatin more fried chicken. Just kidding.

I buy mine from a fruit store, not the supermarket. Much better product because their buyer makes sure they get the quality fruits and veggies.

1 very good around Mother's Day.

1 not-so-good, but edible about two weeks ago.

The ones I saw at the store this week look unfit for human consumption, but they may be juuuuust right for a little "Mail Call" duty!

Costco lets you return watermelons for cash if it isn't sweet enough. I thought my wife was kidding when she told me this but I tried it out this past weekend. No questions asked.

The only inconvenient thing is a partially eaten watermelon rolling around in the trunk...

Nope.  I love fried chicken, greens and watermelon.  Infact, that's what I'm having tonight!

A few days ago we got one that wasn't "crunchy". We ended up putting it through the blender.  Froze it and make great slush.
My brother suggested mixing it with alcohol???

Drive around Watts and South Central, hell any part of the inner city for that matter, and you can get some pretty goods ones from the back of Tyrone's truck.  Except he's got competition now, Julio is selling some good ones near the freeway onramp.

I answered the poll before reading the post.  I chose "all of them" but in reality, I haven't purchased a watermelon this year.

They are picking them to early so they don't have a chance to get sweet on the vine.
