I'm still using 2.91, all the 3.0+ ones were shit.

I haven't updated that thing in a long time.

The lastest one isnt too bad. If you really want a streamlined, lite audio player look into foobar.

I put the old one on my new computer.

Deleted the new, went back to the old.

Software coders must justify their jobs by sitting in their cubicles fucking up functional interfaces with doodads that no one uses.

It's a sickness.

I use 2.x because it runs with my computer based karaoke system... runs it just like you see in the bars.  Hook the computer up to a sound system and a tv, and you have fun party stuff...

It works fine for me... even downloaded a plugin to raise/lower the pitch of the songs so I don't have to tune my bass for the song... I can tune the song to my bass.

I upgrade but I don't get the "full" version. I download the lite version that's all I need to play my mp3's.

Ever since AOL (?) bought the company, it started sucking.

I use version 5.08.  Runs great on my system.  I like it because it loads fast and plays just about any media.

I still use 2.8 because its simple and it rocks!

Quintessential Player has replaced my Winamp, I won't touch anything associated with AOL. They should be sued for being a damn virus, I get sick of installing software that asks me if I want to install AOL, I click no, yet it still puts a bunch of AOL crap on my computer.

BTW: Quintessential Player really is nice.

been using it for years, see no reason to upgrade

I use Limewire

Is there any way in the current version of winamp to set the media library to just play a song one time when you double click on it?  Sometimes I dont want to load the damn thing into my playlist (or worse, clear my playlist and replace it with that single song) and then unload it when its done playing that one time.

WinaMP3 here. I got a skin for it and I just double click on it and it makes this nice little bar that sits at the very top of my computer screen which doesnt get in the way of anything. I love it over the old big ass box from the old Winamp.

I don't care for fancy "skins".

And if a program is working, and everything else is working, why "upgrade"?

I have had more problems from "upgrades" than anything else.

I think I've got the new version.  It uses the "new skins".
