are the Peet dryers worth the extra cost over something like these Dr Dry's?

They keep the boot upside down and lets gravity help.

I don't know, that's all I have and it seems to work.

It's also dry as fuck here.

I've been using the Peet's for years, with extensions they're great for waders also.

When I was single I just put my boots open to the bottom of the refrigerator  and that warm air would dry them.  Now I have gore tex lined boots and don't have wet boots

Nice trick!  I sweat in my workboots, so they get wet from the inside.

I still use the old Sunbeam hair dryers with a hose.  I don't know if they still make them.

If you see one at a flea market get it, or get this one.

I have found a stantard box or window fan to be quite effective.  Or placing my boots next to a heat source.  I grew up knee deep in farm muck, though so what do I know...

I just retired so don't dry my boots/shoes as much any more.  I worked 12 hours shifts and put my boots on a Peet after every shift.  My feet sweat a lot and I worked in a wet environment.  My boots were always dry and ready for work in the morning.

I think it helps boot last much longer by keeping them dry.  Before I started drying them I'd rot the boots out from the inside; after I started drying them I'd wear the boots out from the sole after much more wear.

I've used a peat dryers for years for my 12 hour shift work boots. I'd recommend them.

I have something that looks just like that , that I bought when I got some new Red Wing boots a few years back. I love that boot dryer and am a foot sweater so I always had wet boots at the end of the day. This thing drys them out like a champ.

I have both types of boot dryers, the original Peet one that is big and bulky that you put your boots on upside down and some small Peet Powercell ones that just slip into your boots like your second link. I like the smaller ones better, they are handier, you can take them with you easier, they seem to work just as well.

I have a Peet dryer. I like it pretty well, but I have no experience with anything else.

Used them when I was in Antarctica to keep the work boots dry.
Used them for years to keep the motocross boots dry until I bought a Shock Doctor gear drying system.

If you're using a hair dryer you could jam a cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels or a roll of Christmas wrapping paper on the end of the dryer and stick the end down in your boot, but you could only do one at a time. And maybe use Warm at most. Max might be too hot.
