Let's see pictures of those operators gentlemen. Any version counts......MC Operator, Lightweight Operator, TRP Operator
I just purchased a TRP operator tonight and am mailing funds tomorrow. I'm going to send it to the custom shop to get the OD green coat on the frame like the MC Operator has. Along with fixed sight to replace the adjustable. Orded VZ frag grips in black because the MC operator looks sexy with the black grips contrasting on the OD frame SO LET'S SEE THEM DAMNIT!!!!!!

They make a very limited batch about 1x a year. Most go to California. You can likely find them on Gunbroker sometimes.
Or, order a Custom Shop version - it will be the quality of a Springfield Professional. But, it's close to $3k. |

Fixed sights for me have always worked but they cut up my palm during reload drills |

After looking for one of these for a few years I finally got one. My buddy who works at another gun shop knew I was looking for one and called me as soon as he got it in. I will be sending it off to be worked over but I'm not sure who to send it to. I was thinking about just sending it to the Springfield Custom Shop to have them do the work. Any other ideas would be great.

I only ordered 3 boxes. .45, 12 gauge, .223......I will probably never shoot them, just be funny display ammo as a talking piece and look at the green tips. I'm not zombiepocolypse kinda guy, as in I don't seriously believe it. But I definitely joke about it. I refinished a old metal cabinet a few weeks ago and painted it black and then got a red vinyl sticker that has a Biohazard symbol and says, "Zombie Outbreak Response Kit"........It looks pretty BA. Just a new ammo locker with a little flare |

They got the delivery at noon, an hour after they opened and still took an entire day to ship it. Should have been here yesterday. Paid $40 for a quick payment and it was basically useless. The next day I checked the tracking number they gave me and it said, "A label has been created but package has not been received yet" needless to say I called a little frustrated but they said it shipped and it just wasted updated yet. THANKFULLY!!!! I can't wait any longer! My VZ's got here today and a bunch of 47d mags with a spring kit yesterday. I wish everyone shipped as fast as Midway. I once made an order at 6:30pm on a Friday. 45 minutes later it had been delivered and was on my doorstep the very next day.....they are awesome |

But I seriously, for the life of me, can't figure out what is so great about the full rails. I think the half rail looks way better IMO. Not to mention it 'seems' more practical as no one is going to mount a light that far out unless they have banana fingers. The half rails just keep the 1911 shape while adding just a little underneath. The full rail looks like robocop or judge dread. Like I said before, keep these pics coming because they are beautiful. But can someone explain the attraction to the full rail? Absolutely no hatred, just curiosity. I don't think I would even pay 1/2 price for the full rail, let alone extra. Either way......I hope my TRP is here tomorrow

I have a Lightweight Champion Operator (no pics yet, sorry) and I like everything about it except the 2 piece guide rod. Snapping that little plastic thing over the guide rod is a pain. Is there a drop in replacement for this? My other 1911 has the barrel bushing and GI rod, but I know that setup will not work with the bull barrel on the Springer. Anyone tried something else more simple?
Also I'm in to see the OP's frame when it becomes green. Thought about doing that myself. |

I replaced the factory setup with a Commander length guide rod and a Wolff Champion recoil spring. I've not shot many rounds through it after the change but it's functioned fine so far. Use the guide rod plug from the factory double recoil spring for the plug. It does tend to make reassembly a little trickier. Some Operator pron:  I traded that one off and kept the one below.  |

Quick question to anyone with a TRP that comes with the magwell.....
Have any of you had problems seating the 10 round McCormick mags? The base of the mag is bottoming out on the magwell just mm from being seated. At first i thought, no big deal ill just cut back some of the plastic on the base of the mag. But on second thought, I'd like to have a firearm that will accept any mag i put in, not just the modified ones. All 4 of my wilson 47d 8 rounders fit fine and so did the springer mags but the 2 mccormick mags i just bought are a no go. I feel like as each day passes another item gets added to the custom shop list. I just want my 10 rounders to fit 
ETA: another issue is the trigger is very loosly fitted. Lots of movement in all directions with rattle. As far as function, it works great and the pull is super smooth. I just cant live with a trigger that loose on such a pricey 1911 |

It's a tight fit but mine works, of course the way I load it's not a problem. I've found also with time and many many mag insertions it's gotten easier. |

You could try installing the plug in the slide first, then installing the springs. I've found if I try to put them all in the slide once, it becomes much more difficult as they have to line up perfectly. |

As far as the CM 10 rounders go, it's not that they are tight and downloading to 9 will allow them to fit. It's that the magwell contacts the base of the mag before it is able to lock in place. So instead of altering each CM mag I have, I'd rather have the magwell refit to spec. To me it must be out of spec if 2 brand new CM mags don't fit and they are one of the more popular 1911 mags. However, I'm not sure which magwell it is but it almost seems as if it is plastic. Can anyone verify? Is this the Springfield 2 peice magwell? I wouldn't mind just getting an S&A if that's the case. Well here she is. I haven't been able to take it out yet even though I had a long weekend for vets day. I'm taking classes and I have finals monday and tuesday. Then I will go to the range and fire everyday after that since I am off and head to Hawaii on Sunday for a week
