For some reason I’ve been into handguns more and more. I have a bunch of rifles but been pretty burned out on them. Also have a bunch of pistols but my tastes have become more eccentric lately. I’m planning on grabbing one of the new FN FiveSevens that are RMR cut, a SCAR-15P because fuck my eardrums, a Czechpoint VZ-61 (already have a .22 upper), either a G44 or Sig P322, and some sort of revolver (over 100 guns and no revolver to date). Looking for suggestions there. I’m leaning towards a S&W 329PD but I’m open to other options. Recommendations.

No new firearms. Just reloading components that i can afford

Do you have a Glock 19 gen 5 with an RMR on it? If not, you should fix that.

About the only handgun I really want at this point that I don't already have is a Nighthawk 1911 with a rail. It'll happen one day. Probably not this year, though.

Probably a 44mag revolver.

If you don't have a big bore revolver your collection is incomplete.

Voltquartsen Mini Mamba if you need a supressor host.

I started a thread on 329pd recently and instead decided on a nice no-lock 629 v-comp.

The 329pd is still cool and I might get one anyways. But as a recommendation for a first revolver it's really hard to beat .357/.38.

8-shot S&W n-frames are super fun. The 627 has a couple flavors. Plain steel 5", 4", scandium 5", compensated 5"+.

There are a number of optic mounts if you're inclined to drop an optic on there. If you're a reloader the caliber is very efficient and easy. It's nothing to fix up a couple hundred rounds in an hour or two for <$0.25ea. Everything is possible from a 700fps kitten sneeze plinker up to 2000fps.

There are also sources for 9mm cylinders that drop in, or machining on your existing cylinder to suit 9mm, .38, .357 all in the same gun.

Here's the scandium option. The stainless models look great too.

Planning on getting my first revolver this year as well. Probably a Chiappa Rhino.

Otherwise, other than an XTEN comp, there's not much else that I *know* I'll buy this year, but if history is any guide, I'll find a few anyway.

For revolver. Hard to beat the classics S&w model 19 with 4” barrel. 38/357 mag.
Good basic 6 shot revolver

Get a regular 629 instead of an airweight 44 magnum unless you just like pain. Personally I would buy a Colt Anaconda.

Well, I ordered a Wilson eXperior on Jan 2, 2023 ... supposed to be ready Aug 2023, but maybe they'll have it done sometime this year

Should have got a Staccato CS, even when they were unobtanium I'd have it by now.

Eh… great triggers…but been down the 1911 road before and enjoyed these when they were STI. Doesn’t tickle my fancy.

Just got a 10mm XDM Elite. I no longer live in the country so I haven't shot it yet, but will this afternoon. I'm pretty pumped about it.

There’s really only 4-5 handguns that have my interest…

Like you, I’ve got my eye on a FN 5.7.   I’m also jonesing for a 10mm but not sure what.   I’m also on the lookout for a Volquartsen Mini Mamba.   Then there’s 2 Rugers…a Single Six convertible and one those Wiley Clapp style 7 round revolvers.

If you have ammo and good quality rifles that have lights/optics I’d say maybe quality 1911 or 2011?

DW, Staccato?

Fair. Something from Smith’s performance center? A nice 5” .44 Mag or 3” 357? I’ve got an L-Comp 586 that’s awesome, 7 shots and cut for moon clips.

I'd do a lot of research on the SIG P322.  I watched one have constant problems during a match with CCI ammo.   It may have not liked the ammo, but I would make sure you know what they like and don't like before you buy one.

And the S&W 329PD is NO fun to shoot, unless you handload.   I think it's the only handgun I've ever put exactly one round of factory .44 magnum through and didn't pick it up again except to shoot lighter handloads out of it.

That’s a shame. I’ll do some research but look more heavily into the G44. For high cap .22lr I’ll stick with the VZ61.

As for the 329PD…friend has one. We shot it a lot. The recoil of stout hard cast was half the fun.

Are you looking for more of a collector piece than a regular shooter? Sounds like between 100 handguns you have quite a few options.

There are some very nice older S&W guns. .41mag is an interesting option, a 3" model 27 is bitchin.

My FIL has a very nice 19 with target grips that will be mine some day. He hasn’t shot it since he bought it new several decades ago. I guess I’ll have to break it in.

One of the ones I want to get this year is a P220 LEGION .45AUTO SAO. Another is the P320 SPECTRE COMP BLACKOUT. A third is a P238 LEGION.

ETA: I got a P238 LEGION back on 1/13.

Starting the year off with a USP custom build.

Debating an HK45 Compact Tactical or an Sig 1911 after that.

Then maybe a Chiappa Rhino just for shits and giggles.

If I don’t go heavy on rifles I’ll probably grab a CZ Shadow Compact.

Ruger Mark IV, maybe. Other than that I'm planning to finish a bunch of 80% projects I've been squirreling away.

I have a few things on this list. Top of it is the Tisas 2011. At $800 for a 2011 with no mim parts, forged slide, CHF barrel, how can you not try it out.
I’m also really interested in building a comped PDP. I am going to buy a full size gun and a compact version and build the top half using the shorter slide pared with a PMM comp. I’ve got a Gen 5 MOS G17 coming this week in preparation for the Radian G17 ramjet and afterburner comp. It will bring the total length to the same as a G34.

I've had my heart set on a S&W 686+ Deluxe for awhile now. But the 45acp revolver thread has me thinking differently.

Probably a Staccato CS or C2, having trouble deciding which one.

Don't plan on much for this year, mainly going to focus on finishing off projects with maybe a light or two here or there, maybe an optic or two upgrade. Also going to continue to slowly increase my reloading supplies as items are located at good prices or are found on the EE here.

With that said, I just bought a Gen 5 G20 MOS yesterday.

If I get anything additional, it might be a Gen 5 G19 unless something really neat hits the market or I run a cross a dal I can't refuse.

I was focusing on buying a suppressor or two this year and no guns, but I accidentally won this on GB for $280 as the only bidder. Two months ago, the same thing happened and I was the only bidder on a NIB S&W M&P 2.0 compact 9mm with five mags for $319.

At my age I'm pretty much done adding to my collection.  I can only think of two handguns that could get me to pry open my wallet.

A S&W .22LR revolver and a classic Walther PPK in .32acp, but with values on them being what the are these days I don't see that happening.

Anything you like.  I've been chasing snubbies and small caliber pocket pistols.  Yesterday I took home a Ruger LCR in .327 Federal Mag.  I can shoot S&W short, S&W long, .32 H&R, .327 Mag, and even .32 acp (not really recommended).  Just something to play around with.  I kinda want a S&W 351c (.22 Mag J frame) now.

I'll be on the lookout in 2024 for a USP 40 V1 in good shape under $400.  Should've never sold the one I got for $345.  Why .40?  Because that's what the USP was designed for and it does it so well.

A few months ago our agency switched to the G45 MOS.

As a result, I bought back my issued G34. A short while later I was able to buy a like new Gen 4 G17 with all original stuff and box.

Well, today I got a call, there is one last Gen 5 G17, unissued and unfired, available for $353.00... yes, I bought it too.

Honestly, funds are tight and I may end up selling down more than buying up. Additionally, I have several pistols without optics or lights on them that I want to finish up, so those have a high priority. Factor in the election year and powder price hikes, and buying ammo is more important than buying guns to me.

That having been said, I stacked quality .22LR pretty deep in the past few years, so if things go the way they’re looking, I’ll probably let some things go and pick up a used 617 or something and start burning up my .22 stash. I’d rather do that than not shoot at all, but time will tell!

I got that one on sale not long ago.
It's hot chit.

Since I wasn't completely broke after Christmas and all that, decided I needed a GranPower P40l 10mm.
So that will be here end of the week.

Op, don't have a single revolver?
Shame.
I would get your favorite barrel lenth in the Python.

MAYBE, maybe I might get a Rossi RP-63. If money was no object I'd be looking for a pre-lock Smith 65-3 3 inch, but money IS an object I don't have enough of, so Rossi it is.
Other than that...not really, just want more time to shoot what I already have, nothing I have is a safe queen.
