I'm looking to pick up some 10 round single stack .45 ACP mags for my STI Spartan for use in a pistol league.

What do you recommend?  It seems CMC Power Mags and Wilsons are the most popular.  Any others to look at?  Pros and cons?

I'm currently using Checkmates and Act-Mags that work fine.

Tripp Research has the best 1911 mags if you ask me

And if you can't afford those, Mec-Gar makes some good stainless 10rders.

The CMC's are a great choice too.

I like the WILSON 10 rounders best.

I like the tab that prevents over insertion.

I hate it when that happens!   It's a tab that prevents the mag from going in too far into the chamber and causing the rounds not to load properly.  A few of the 10 round mag makers have them or an overwrapped base that prevents it from sliding in too far.

PS - Give me all your TP for my bunghole!  I am Cornholio!  I still laugh thinking of that show.

Does anyone know if the Tripp and CMC have a feature that prevents over insertion?

Chips have an overmolded baseplate that comes up and prevents that.

I like the Chips for 10 rounders, seems like Midway has them on sale every other month. For me a way better value than the Wilsons.

I just switched from CMC Power 10's 2 months ago to Tripp 10's.... also replaced CMC followers with Tripp's upgrade kits for CMC Mags.... The CMC's work fine now but since I bought New Tripp 10's the P10's are back up mags.............

CMC 10rd Powermags are the standard IMO, good price and I've never had one fail.  I used to like Wilson mags, I don't run them anymore as I started getting too many failure to lock the slide back with the plastic followers.  Tripps are good but I don't see any advantage to them over the CMC mags.

I used Wilson 10 round mags back when I was shooting IPSC.  Only one word of caution with the Wilson's.  They recommend leaving the mags fully loaded for 24 hours before their first use.  I got mine the day of a match and I didn't read those directions.  It was a long, miserable, feed failure day.  After letting them sit fully loaded for 24 hours it was feeding bliss.
