I just shot my first rounds out of a new Glock 20 (Remington 180gr).

How are these on the power scale- are they just 40s&w in a 10mm or are the factory rounds loaded to 'full' 10mm specs.

Don't have a chrony, which I know would help.

With the exception of Winchester 175 grain silver tips pretty much every mainstream 10mm load is just a hair more zippy than a 40. You have to go to the specialty brands to get hotter 10mm - it is definitely more of a reloaders cartridge.
I shot a friends glock 29 and felt it recoiled less with factory ammo than my glock 27 with full house loads

Its more powerful than the average 40S&W but not as powerful as good 10mm ammo; I use Winchester Silvertip as a standard 10mm and DoubleTap as full house 10mm examples.

Thanks guys.

I plan on reloading for it.

The 10mm Remington 180gr is spec'ed at 1150 FPS / 529 Ft lbs.

The Winchester Silvertip 10mm is 1290 FPS / 649 Ft lbs for comparison.

It doesn't give the velocity somewhere on the box?

Surprisingly many ammo makers do not put specs as far as velocity fpme psi etc on ammo boxes! Kind of like a food container without an ingredients or nutrition data

Also some are known to be wildly inaccurate- some published data will show a given load in a specified barrel length going say 1450 and you chronograph it and find it is really going 1225

Granted, I haven't bought factory pistol ammo in awhile, but most of them usually seem to have it on there somewhere.   Remington was one of them that I thought did.

I didn't see it, thus this thread.
