My friend just inherited this and asked me about it.  I had no clue but think it's awesome!  What can you tell me?

Original finish?

Possible worth?

I think it's safe to say that is not an original finish.

Appears to be a "sporting model".  And, apparently only about 6900 produced.

Very cool piece.  For what it's worth....   Colt 1902 - Wiki

No idea on value.

100% refinished and buffed to death. Pretty but the value is at or below the poor condition.

fxntime is right that gun was VERY poorly refinished in it's past. even a no finish gun is going to be worth more than that buffed to death classic. It is in 38 ACP  caliber- same case as a 38 super but do NOT use super level loads in it- can definitely hurt the gun light 38 acp level loads to try and shoot it if you want.
