| Anyone know a source, other than GunPartsCorp., for 1908 magazines? |
|
That's a tough one I have had to address with older Berettas and Colts. Way back when the magazine was thought of as simply part of the pistol. One was made per gun with a very few for replacement, as in "lost". Today people buy a dozen magazines when they buy an autoloader.
You need to watch Gunbroker, be sure of the seller and get your wallet out. A good one is not cheap. Think north of a hundred, good condition, Colt manufactured and not replacement. |

Older "fudd-ish" gun shops with no black rifles are usually very good for picking through their magazine bins to find stuff like this. Y'know the types..... you walk in, and the owner and 5 of his buddies are always shooting the shit and ignore you because you look like "your lookin' for one of dem der plastic guns" Newer gun stores run with a higher turnover and won't have things like this. They also rarely know the market for the mags. |

As noted already but can't be stated enough...
STAY AWAY FROM THE AFTERMARKETS!!!!! (fleabay) Genuine 1908 Colt mags are expensive as hell but it's still cheaper than having junk mags that don't work. And no, modifying them to work properly is next to impossible. |

Possibly FN Browning 1906 mags may fit? NOT the baby Browning mags, but the older grip safty version .25 auto mags may work.
I own both types of .25 auto, an ancient FN Browning .25(vest pocket or 1906), and a Bauer .25, which is a Baby browning clone. Mags are different between the two. |
