Whether a 1911 or any of the current plastic space guns - they're only as good the owner's dedication and time spent dry firing and in the range pits. I know, I whooped a former IPSC World Champion in an informal first shot draw (the most important shot) match with only gun I owned at the time, a well worn Series 70. In the hands of good people, all guns are good; and all bad in the minds of evil (Obama). Handgunner's, don't infight over your favorite plastic vs. steel safe queens, just be glad you've got em' and point all your thoughts in the same direction, downrange. Having said that, the 1911 is the only handgun that I can stay up past time my bed time looking at. Like beautiful women, no two are alike. |

 *BACKGROUND* Once, on another "1911 vs x" thread, a 1911 fan made an allusion to the 1911 being used "to storm machinegun nests on horseback". My friends and I found the anachronism of horses riding up the beach at Normandy into machine-gun fire, with pistols no less, quite amusing. |
