Well, I have been checking my finances, and I wanted to purchase an addon rail that would not require tapping into my kimber.  I discovered expensive solutions, such as the Surefire MR07, and such, but cannt afford it at the moment.  I came accross a rail system made by Command Arms, which fits on the 1911.  I know next to nothing about it and it attaches Via allen keys to the trigger guard.  I have personally never seen this kind before.  Would anyone be able to tell me if the quality on this item would last with basic shooting?

Also, I had a question reguarding the TLR-1, by streamlight.  The rail key itself is located up front, and not in the middle of the light, correct?  It was just a bit confusing beacuse the tighting bolt is in the middle, and for it to fit correctly to the rail I want, it would have to be upfront, which is what I have seen so far.  ANY information would be most helpfull.

I can't seem to find anyone that either has or will admit to buying that rail from CAA.  I have a ParaOrd 7.45 and am looking into rails also.  I think I am going to end up going with the Dawson rail and Surefire x200.  I want something that I don't have to fiddle around with constantly.  This weapon will have to pull double duty as an off duty piece also, so I gotta be able to put it into regular holsters.  I could do that with the Surefire adapter, but I would have to pop out the slide stop and switch them out just about daily.  Not really something I wish to do.

I think that CAA piece would be fine for a HD gun, but I think you are going to catch hell finding a holster to fit it.  About the only thing you can hope for is one of the larger universal nylon holsters to fit.

I was thinking about the x200, just a bit out of my range lol.  In your opinion, do you think a rail mounted to the trigger guard should be sturdy enough?  Ive seen a few that go that way rather than the slide stop.  I just want to make sure there will be no rattle or shaking.
