[ARCHIVED THREAD] - 1911 grip problem.

When changing my grips one of the grip screw threads came out with the screw. The screw is now stuck in the thread and will not screw out.

I have tried to hold the thread in with a pair of vice grips but it still will not screw out. The pistol is a Springfield Armory GI. It looks like right now the only option is to buy a new screw thread.

Anbody have any suggestions?

loc-tite on the new ones and don't try to reuse them if the threads are damaged beyond repair

Sorry guys, I should have done a search. I did do a search on the 1911 forum and found that if the bushing is not stripped you can use loctite. Thanks for responding.
