Last week end i took a two day pistol course Level 1 Level 2 . Was using a Springfield loaded on day 1 had 3 failure to eject with Winchester White box in 460 rounds and day two a Colt Lightweight Commander had one failure to feed with 480 rounds of magtech 45Auto Ball. Ended up finding a lot out about the guns and things i need/would like changed.

The Springfield felt great and had no real function problems but would like to have a new ejector put in since it is a used gun and have no clue total round count on the current ejector

The Colt had less malfunctions but Because their is a large gap between the frame and grip safety ended up taking a nice chunk of skin out of the webbing of my thumb/finger Plan to send it off and have a Ed brown style beaver tail installed/blended, front night sight 10-8 or yo-bo style rear sight along with maybe making it a bobtail and having it refinished in black almost forgot Front strap checkering maybe golfball and get rid of the plastic mainspring housing.

Would love to send the colt off to someone like Chuck Rogers but he never takes on work these days    any recommendations on smith or some other work i should think about? think will give MARS a shot with this work.

Plan to just send the Springfield back to well Springfield or see if i can save money by sending it all to the same smith at the same time.

Where in that round count were the failures? If toward the end, I'd honestly not give much worry about them, WWB is reasonbly dirty stuff and I'd bet it was gunked up pretty good.

There's been several topics lately with issues with WWB ammo. I'm starting to establish a trend............

I see you're in Michigan.

I can say good things about Marianne Carniak.  She's in Troy (SE MI).
Second generation pistol smith.  Pretty much only works on 1911's and knows what she's doing.

Don't know if she does the golf ball thing.

IM Sent.

And just because, here's a couple shots of what she gutted and rebuilt for me a while ago.
Started life as a Springer Milspec.
Fire control group, fitted beavertail, MSH, dovetailed sights, ring hammer, slide stop, match bushing, trigger job etc, etc, etc done by Marianne, all top tier parts.

These were taken by her when she finished.
Gun's alot more worn now and has developed a really cool patina.
