Please keep this to shooters who have actually used this firearm. I could give a rats ass what a magazine said about it. Anyone shoot or have one of these yet? Range report please. Is it that much better then the 226R? stay safe....shoot straight thanks much! |

I have a tactical and an evo9. The gun without the can shoots just like a P226R and functions like you'd expect from SIG. With the can on, however I am constantly getting peppered in the face buy powder. I shoot the same can on a glock 23 with a 9MM conversion barrel without this problem. Hope that answers you ?s. If not IM me. |

I had a Sig P226 tactical. It was so inexpensive, I had to get it. It is a real nice firearm. It has rail+threaded barrel+night sight. It has a good balance just like other Sigs has. I shot regular W German (old) Sig P226 9mm before at a range as a rental gun. Compare to my P226 tactical, I could not find too big of a difference. However, previous owner of P226 tac did change a hammer spring, so it had a very nice DA trigger. Most of my friends loved it (including female noob shooters to experienced shooters). If you want the rail+threaded barrel, I think it is just better to buy at P226 tactical when there are good deals out there. I know if you look hard, P226 tacticals goes really cheap relative to P226R. I would love to tell you more in details, in terms of range report, but I don't have any grouping picture to compare it to regular P226/P226R. |

I also have a 226tac and to be honest, unless you're gonna get a suppressor, don't bother. It shoots and handles just like a regular 226. I got it for use with an Evo9 and so the fact that it already had the threaded barrel was what did it for me. As for blowback, I shoot my Evo dry and don't notice anything blown back in my face. Even shooting it wet (as recommended) it doesn't spit out much junk. Only when it's too wet is it noticeable. That all said, the 226 is a great gun. |
