Hello, I've got a 226 that i've had for about a year now. When i'm dry firing and pull the trigger it seems to kick back a little- causing discomfort on my finger tip after just a few tries. I have noticed the same thing after shooting session. Let me say i'm not sure i completely understand what trigger slap is- may or may not be the problem. I wanted to see if anyone else has ever had this problem and what the solution is. Thanks. |

The only thing that comes to mind is the the Safety lever is being cam'd back down due to the FP block not fitting the FP correctly, if the trigger is moving back forward as the hammer falls/strikes. Sounds like it's time to send the pistol back to Sig for repair. |

Never heard of trigger slap in a SIG before. Something is definitely wrong. If it’s still under warranty, give SIG a call. Dano523’s idea is interesting. You could test for this and other slide-related issues by removing the slide, then pulling the trigger and seeing if you still have the trigger slap. (Please don’t pull the trigger a lot with the slide off though since it’s a bit hard on the pistol.) Of course, if someone who didn’t know what they were doing has worked on this pistol, anything is possible. |
| it seems to happen more in the double action pull. i'm not sure if it's trigger slap- it may just be an abrupt stop, i'm not sure. I bought it as a CPO sig from a sig dealer- so i'm doubtful that it's had any tinkering done on it that would still be having an effect. i was going to switch it over to the sig short trigger anyway- if i'm still having the same problem i can ship it off. it needs night sights anyway- thanks for the help. |
