| I heard that if you put 2 rubber nipples over the end of the barrel of a 22 pistol that it works as a suppressor. Is this true? If so then I am about to buy more rubber nipples than an expecting mother. |
Certainly not on a revolver, I bet. The extra noise would escape between the cylinder gap of the forcing cone. No clue on a semi. At best, it would be only for one shot. Ditto for empty 2 liter coke bottle taped onto the end of a .22 semi. Not that *I* would do this, of course!!!!!!!! |
dont see why both kinds of ammo should not work--the bottle will be outside the bbl and the ammo should cycle fine; subsonic might be quieter than the regular....h/w, i'm pretty sure that you should NOT be doing this ![]() i heard that anything used to supress a firearm's report/noise 3 dBs or more is classified as a scilencer and illegal w/out the paperwork and tax.... IBTL if this snowballs... |

I went to the range, a National Wildlife Management Range, and was all ready to test the bottle and right before I pulled it out a few off-duty Police officers pulled up to shoot. Needless to say I didn't test. I did get to shoot an MP5SD. Those things are amazing!!! I will keep you posted. |
Yeah, next thing you know there will be a $200 transfer tax on bottles of pop because of you guys doing this. I have never tried it Really!! I haven't

A complete and udder waste of time, and possibly a legal nightmare. Jsut do it the right way. Get an all out legal suppressor, and you'll be much happier. If you don't want to jump through the hoops, get a pump, bolt, or lever action .22 with aguila colibri rounds. Sounds the same as a suppressed .22, but still has enough power to knock off smaller creatures. |
