Tactical Solutions 2211 with threaded barrel. It is expensive at around $450 but a really nice kit. I don't regret it one bit.

I had one of those prior to the TacSol. It was accurate but I didn't like that the slide didn't lock back after the last round is fired. It was also sometimes picky with ammo. Don't get me wrong ... it was a lot of fun and I still wouldn't say anything bad about them. I think I paid $300 for mine. I still feel the TacSol was worth the extra money. The mags are designed like "real" mags, with metal tubes, etc. The Kimber mags are plastic and look like the ones for my Ruger 22/45. I think the mag design makes a big difference with feeding reliability. YMMV.

I have a Marvel Unit 1 as well. I love it. I broke it in with CCI Minimags, and now it feeds the bulk federal walmart stuff just fine.

I have a matte finish Ciener 1911 conversion kit on a dedicated frame and have had no problems in many thousands of rounds, they eat Federal 550 bulk packs all day long and don't stumble, my only complaint is my Advantage Arms Glock 17-22 conversion unit has a last shot hold-open while the Ciener kits do not... A small price to pay I'd guess and other than that I love the Ciener kits, cheap fun and great training tools...

I've also have a Colt.  Its digested many thousands rounds since I got it used 20yrs ago.  I've got 3 mags and only occasinally the follower acitvate the slide stop (worn).  Great for practicing in the backyard without distrubing the neighbors and teaching young kids how to shoot a 1911.  Do plan on make a full gun one day.

ETA:  The designer of the floating chamber in the Colt was David Williams of the M1 Carbine.  Turns out to be my wifes mother's uncle.

I bought a Wilson Conversion a number of years ago––-it's a Ciener unit with a better finish and Wilson sights.....works very well for me....a little picky at first with different ammo, but with a few modifications it now runs fine.  I put it on a desinated lower that I was building at the time and just left the 22 conversion on it since it fit so well.  Money well spent.
