I'm hardcore Glock guy, but, I really like the feel of the OSS. Anybody have one that can give me some end user opinions?

I'd be interested in this, too, if anyone can comment?

I cannot use a Glock, so I'm considering options.

I posted this in a different thread here...

I got rid of both my G21sf and G30sf, and replaced them with a PT145 Mil Pro, and a 24/7 OSS DS in .45ACP.

I purchased 10 extra mags for each from Bud's Guns for $29.00 each.

They fit my hand better, and I have had ZERO problems with them, my PT1911, or my PT99 that I bought back in 1986, which I still have and shoot often.

I'm going to get the PT 24/7 PRO in .45ACP next week.

I kept my G26 and G19 though.

I have since purchased the 24/7 PRO as well.

I'm thinking I'm going to pick up a 24/7 OSS 9mm myself...  Will probably have to sell my SA EMP first tho.

I REALLY like the features of the OSS.  Taurus did well with it, I only hope I can get my hands on one soon to see how they feel in my hand.   I've read good reviews of them.

I own a 24/7 OSS .40.  I have put about 4000 rounds through it without any hiccups.  I absolutely love the ergonomics of the gun and will put it against anything on the market.  I know there will be some disagreement but I am talking about my own personal preference.  Everyone has there own opinion and this is mine.  I have carried it concealed and I am of the opinion that anything I stick in my pants is going to have a safety on it.

Someone posted the link to a similar question above. I honestly dont think Taurus PT/OSS line have anything in common with Glock, other than the fact that neither have external hammers.
I have been an owner of both and I wont argue that I liked how my Taurus PT 24/7 felt in my hand. I also liked the manual safety and durability... along with the reasonable price tag.
But, ill say the same thing here as the last post, I personally can not stand the trigger pull, my advice would be to rent or shoot a friends PT/OSS before making a decision.

I agree with you with regards to the trigger pull. It was not that the trigger pull was heavy it was just long being as I was raised as a 1911 guy. It did take some getting used to as I have been a 1911 guy my whole life.  Having said that, for me at least, the OSS has everything that I want.  There is probably no such thing as the perfect gun short of having one built for you from scratch but I do like this one.

I have a .40 cal OSS. I prefer it over a glock when comparing accuracy and fit in my hand.  I have heard some complaints about accuracy but mine has been spot on. I shoot it more accurately than my Sig 250 and 2022. Reliability has been flawless thus far with around 800 rnds through it. As stated above the trigger pull is long but not heavy.

I am with you on the accuracy.  I am no bulls eye guy but I can keep two mags on an 8" plate at 25 yards.  That is good enough for me.

my brother bought an oss after shooting and liking my 24/7 pro, as yall said, the accuracy out of his has been great once you get the sights and trigger down. and i love how the gun feels almost as much as my 24/7, his is just a little heavier up front for obvious reasons.

now the negative, we had to send it back the same day we got it, this may or may not have been my fault. but in short, the trigger was random and when you pulled it back and held it, it would just randomly go off. anyway, we got it back and that problem was fixed. 2nd, his wont always feed crap ammo, never had a problem with winchester, but the cheap crap would fail to fully eject every couple shots. and 3rd: it recoils twice as bad as my .45 pro and his is a .40. i guess because of how much heavier the slide is, but idk.

anyway, overall, its been a good gun for my brother, he just took his chl class with it and had no problems.

Well, I finally made my purchase, but didn't go with the OSS.  I saw that Academy had the 24/7 PRO DS for $379.  I picked up one yesterday.  It's the stainless slide version in 9mm.  Damn, it's a nice feeling gun.  Same operating system as the OSS, which I really like.  Fit and finish are great, and it feels GOOD in the hand.  I hope it shoots as well as it feels.  I won't be able to get to the range probably until next weekend or the weekend after, tho.

The only thing I think is a little goofy is the trigger - how it stays forward even while in single action.  The almost inch of take-up is a little odd, but once you get through it, it breaks cleanly.  It's also easy to hold and then let up just enough to click after the action cycles then break again.

Again, if this gun shoots as good as it feels, it will be WELL WORTH the $412 out-the-door that it cost.  I will want to get another one or two for various duties.  Maybe an OSS later on, as well!

I own and carry a Taurus 24/7 OSS DS in .45ACP
I love this pistol!  It has performed flawlessly for me (only about 300 or so rounds so far, ammo is kind of expensive for a college kid these days).  It feels amazing in my hand, is accurate at 25 yards (I just don't practice any further than that because I don't feel it's safe to get in the habit), the ambi safety and decocker are great, my night sights rock, disassembly and maintenance are no problem.  What really sold me on it was the single/double action and the incredible feel in my hand.
The only thing close to a complaint is that when I first bought it I wasn't pushing the clips into the gun hard enough and that caused some feed issues.  That's obviously my fault, not the pistol's.
You hear a lot of sob stories about Taurus on the web, but I haven't had any trouble with my OSS or my M85S.
You'd probably want to hear from someone who's put significantly more rounds through their weapon than I have, but my experience has been great so far.

Looked at one today in .40S&W, I was impressed with the trigger and feel of the gun overall.

they're coming out with one in .38 Super.

I wish .38 Super had become more popular in the US.  Capacity of a 9mm, but a nice increase in oomph!

My bad, it's a standard 24/7 that the .38 super is coming out. Not the OSS

Either way, pretty cool.  I wish .38 Super were more popular.  If it were, we'd see many many guns using it.

Then the argument would be 38 Super or .45 ACP, which is better?

It might be going that way, look how much .380 Auto has picked up, I realize it's due to the proliferation of the pocket pistol.  But it may cause a few people to look at different cartridges.
