What are the issues relating to changing out a factory 5.5lb connector and installing a Glock (OEM) 3.5lbs connector? I know this reduces the trigger pull but is it too much of a reduction for a CCW? Any legal concerns? 1911's typically have an approx 4lbs trigger squeze so this would be only slightly less. The Glock 35 already comes with the 3.5lbs so what would the the issue in putting the same connector in a smaller Glock? What purpose would be in installing a NY Trigger? Why would someone want one of these AND a 3.5lbs connector? Any thoughts on this are welcome. Thank you, CSP |

Your result may vary. For me, the stock trigger is good. Stock trigger with 3.5 is too light for me to consider carrying. Stock trigger + NY1 is what I used to use, heavier and IMHO safer then just the stock trigger. However My father and I do not shoot the Glocks with the NY1 as well as the stock trigger. Now a 3.5 and NY1 gives about a 6 lbs trigger pull. Thats heavier then the stock, but on MOST guns, (varies from gun to gun), this makes the trigger feel like a single stage. Some feel mushy, however my G17 feels better then some custom revolver triggers. I love this combo and have put it in all 3 my glocks. |

A Glock with the "standard" coil spring and a 3.5# connector doesn't pull @ 3.5#. It pulls at around 4.5#. There are no issues for concealed carry, except that you'll probably be more accurate with the lighter trigger. NY trigger springs were designed for folks from NY. Do we really need to know more than that? |

Using a digital trigger meter and weights, I have found that all of the 3.5# connectors I have tested have registered a higher pull than the heaviest single action trigger on any competition or carry 1911 triggers. This is an issue in my state for cops and off-duty guns. "The 1911 is the king of CQB handguns and the king of feedway stoppages"................ The SBI here takes our gun after a shooting and puts it through the tests - I am covered with a FACTORY 3.5# connector. Stock 1911 triggers feel definitively better than Glock triggers but 3.5# triggers feel definitively better than stock triggers no matter the frame or flavor of ammo....... NY triggers in combo with anything feels like silicone implants with a paper bag covering the face - too much to bear............. Go 3.5#.......... It is sproingy and yet still feels a lot nicer.......... |
