Looks like Glock is going to introduce their 43, 9MM CCW pistol in April. I really like my Kahrs but would look closely at this new Glock. Not totally stuck on any one brand of anything.

How does the width, height, mag capacity, length, price, etc compare to a CW9? Because it sucks compared to a shield or PPS

Yup, late to the party and still with that horrible grip.

They will sell tens of thousands of them.

I will never understand the Glock thing, ever.

I actually like the LC9s over the Shield.  It has a better trigger and is slightly smaller than the Glock 43.

There is a big thread on this in the Glock subforum. I think saying that it "sucks" compared to the Shield or PPS is a bit of a stretch.

ETA:

From the aforementioned thread:

slide width
G43- 0.86"
Shield- 0.91"
PPS- 0.9"

frame width
G43- 1.02"
Shield- 0.95"
PPS- 1.04"

height
G43- 4.25"
Shield- 4.6"
PPS- 4.4"

weight
G43- 16.19oz
Shield- 19oz
PPS- 19.4oz

barrel length
G43- 3.39"
Shield- 3.1"
PPS- 3.2"

overall length
G43- 6.26"
Shield- 6.1"
PPS- 6.3"

Agreed... and:

The Shield is a larger-size 9mm subcompact IMO.

The Kahr CM9 is a smaller-size 9mm subcompact, and mine runs 100%.

Specs on G43 are similar to Shield.

To give up the capacity and shootability of my G19 takes the smaller-size gun for me.

Frame width is wrong for the PPS IIRC. That 1.04" is the width including the controls. The width of the frame is the same as the slide; 0.9".

ETA: So that makes me question the other widths listed. They may not necessarily be the frame width, but rather the overall width including the controls.

I think the person compiling this list is using measurements listed from websites. Which as you have pointed out there isn't really a uniform system of measuring these things. When width includes controls, I don't find that as helpful unless the controls are just really big, I don't think that affects carrying it all that much. If you have the time and the data, and it wouldn't be much trouble, I'm sure the fella in the other thread would appreciate your measurements. He is compiling a spreadsheet of single stack 9s for a comparison.

As for myself, I'm going to reserve judgement until I can lay hands on one. I do think one of things it has going for it is that it looks to have a shorter height, and for the way, I carry how long the grip is determines a lot of how easy it is to conceal. I honestly am not sure if it is worth going from my 26 to the 43, since I have no trouble concealing my 26. The 43 might be come "comfortable" but I'll give up some comfort for more rounds and better shootability. I'll likely be one to wait a year before I go for it. Thin guns tend to move around in my hands when shooting more than thicker ones.

ETA: I see you have already posted in the other thread. Thanks.

I'll get one for special occasions.
The grip is nothing like a G19, so I don't know what the bitch is there.
I handled a Shield and didn't like it at all. For the size, I would sooner carry my G19 or G26 with extra capacity.

No matter what else I many get, the CM9 stays. Far too good and dependable to let go. My family members can't even tell when I carry it it hides so well.

I love the LC9s Pro.  Perfect for my pocket.  Good trigger and carries one more round than the 43 does.

Considering they sold 200,000 of the 42 which everyone (myself included) thought was too big for the caliber, and that Glock was late to the party on .380 etc, I think tens of thousands is an underestimate. They will sell as fast as they make them.

*shrug*

I say I won't get one. I probably will anyway.
