is the differences just the finish color?



I was looking also on their website and they list it without the internal lock, does that mean they are producing new revolvers without the locks? or are those left overs and all the new ones will have the locks?

pretty much.  



Exactly same size, weight and action.  



The current 642s w/o locks have SS barrels and cylinders on alloy frames.

Whereas, the current 442s w/o locks have SS barrels, Carbon steel cylinders on alloy frames.

Who knows.   That's why you should get them while you can.
