Is it just me or is this round a solution to a problem that didn't exist.  I would have liked a single stack .45 ACP from glock much better than a new round that may not even be around in ten years.

It's just you.  People like me asked for a .45 that fits in a 9mm frame.  It allows us to have a double stack that fits our small hands.  They delivered.  Several mfgs are lining up to produce .45GAP pistols.  I had about given up hope.

BTW, Glock already makes a single stack .45, it's the G36.

The .45 GAP is for the 9mm hi-cap crowd who don't currently own a .45 ACP or whose hands are too small to grip a .45 ACP double stack.

I went from a .40 to a .45 ACP, took a look at the .45 GAP, just wasn't practical. I really like the .45 round and after looking at all the manufacturers that make semi-autos, revolvers and such for the .45 ACP, well it just seemed logical to get a .45 ACP.

Hell those guys in countries that can't have "military use" ammuntion calibers are probably just delighted.  But for those of us who can have .45 ACP, I just don't see the allure.  IMHO, YMMV.

Just another thing for those that must have everything..........I'll pass.

BTW, I feel the same way about 357 SIG.  It doesn't do anything that the 40 cal doesn't do already with the right loadings.

It's not just you.  I can't understand why anyone would build a .45 for people who can't fit their hand around a G21.  In that, case, just buy a G22 and humble yourself by shooting a .40 cal.

It's interesting, but it doesn't make good sense to me...

Can one buy +P loads for it? Hell no, the rd is already at max specs now. Can one buy soft loads for it? Seen any lately? Guess not.

There was plenty of room in the 30 for a redesign/thinning. Seems old Gaston wanted his name on something.

remember that if you have to shoot someone wearing armor.

i initially thought the same of the gap, but there are a lot of little handed people who don't feel comfortable with a 9/40.  this is for them.

i personally am comfortable with .40 and can't see any reason to carry a 37 over a 22.

what scares me is the chamber.  it looks REAL thin.

If I have to shoot someone wearing body armor, I am pretty much fucked anyway.
