It has been a while since GLOCK brought out G37, G38, & G39 pistols chambered in .45 GAP.  How well has this round been doing?

CSP

BTW - I am a .40 S&W guy for GLOCK's and .45 ACP guy for 1911's.

i have heard that a few LEO agencies in the US have issued em, but imo, its b/c they are getting glock discounts/benefits if they decide to use em

imo, its dying.... it was a 'solution' in search of a problem

glocks' excuse for its inception is crap--to fit a .45 bullet in thier frame; all they had to do is slightly redesign thier frame

next to that, its a LOW cap glock, which is kinda contradictory to traditional glock designs

some say to give it a few yrs and it will pick up, but imo, it was dead when it hit the water and wont survive for much longer...

from what i hear, its mildly popular with the competiontion shooters. it has the 9/40/357 frame, and "i think" makes major power factor

I have all three Glock guns in the GAP caliber, and an XD in 45GAP.  I have about 3000 rounds through all of them combined, mostly the G38, and I have not had a single problem from any of the guns.

They all function perfectly, they are all accurate, and from what I can tell, the ballisitics are excellent.  But most importantly, I like that I can shoot a 45caliber round from a Glock that has a 9mm size grip.  That is its purpose.  I think Glock saw the obvious benefit of using an existing frame, instead of spending what is probably millions of dollars redesigning, tooling up for, and producing, a different size frame.

There were already a few agencies using the GAP, and the Georgia State Police just adopted it, with the New York State Police in the works of adding it to their arsenal.  And say what you want, but good deal or not being the motivation for buying the guns, there is no agency that isn't going to issue their troops a good gun.  It is just simply counter productive, and opens them up to lawsuits.  And any agency gets a good deal on any Glock as it is, no matter the model.

If you decide to get a GAP gun.  Make sure you look up MirageTechnologies for some ammo.  I can get Speer Lawman from them, for less than $12 a box shipped, when I buy a case.

Remember, the only people that don't like the GAP, are the ones don't own one, and have never shot one.  They are afraid to try it.

I had a M37 and loved it!  Although I still own and love Glocks, I crossed over and betrayed them in .45 ACP...I bought an XD Tactical.
