I came across a 586 with a 6 inch barrel that was purchased by the  current owner in 1980 in Germany.  The thing that I have a question about is that this one has German (HK) proof marks on barrel, frame, and cylinder any added value?  It's current condition is 98% with orginal box,  he is asking $675, should I go get it tomorrow?

Price is about right if it is really 98%. I would offer $600 and see what happens

That sounds high to me.  I wouldn't go over $500, and I would be afraid the proof marks would detract from the value.

There is one in a local shop that they want $569 for, I could probably get them down to 550 with a little haggling.

That's more than I would pay. I don't think the German proof marks would add any value to most people and might reduce its value to some (for me its a non-factor). For me $500 would be the upper end of my interest, price wise.
