I have a 6.5" 629 Classic that I use for deer hunting. I have moved to an area that is much more open than I am used to hunting and would like to add a scope to my handgun. My question is; can a gunsmith tap the barrel and receiver and mount a base. Allowing me to use quick release rings and my factory Iron sights when I am in heavy cover and reattatch the scope when I'm sitting along a field? Or is my only option the Warne Multi-Sight system? http://www.warnescopemounts.com/multisight.asp I would rather retain the longer sight radius of my factory sights, but I suppose the Warne system will work.
