looking to trade my beretta cx4 carbine with primary arms reflex, 3-30 round beretta mags, and 1 18 round mec gar mag i really like the light weight and accuracy from this carbine but im lacking a good wheel gun. I have been offered a 686-5 6" 7 shot with 2 hks speed loaders. The 686 appears to be in excellent cond and does not appear to be fired very much.
is this a fair trade? what would be some things to look for in a used revolver? |

The 686-5 is the last model before the internal lock (Hillary hole), but will have some metal injection parts, and a redesigned trigger and lock work. So it is slightly less sought after, but definitely a better choice than the -6 and later models. Depending on the exact condition, it should be worth anywhere from $650 to $800. Your carbine and the red dot would be worth around $650-$700, the mags might be $25-$30 a piece. This guy has a really great video on how to check revolver condition (you can skip the first two minutes). |
