What can you tell me about the Beretta (now Stoeger) 8000?
Saw a video on youtube with one and now I sort of want one.

I was just thinking about this and posting on here to see who else had one. I've had a few of them, still have one of the new railed ones. Be warned, holsters are a pain in the butt to find for the railed variants, little easier for the ones without. They're decent little guns. If you like the ergo and Beretta design they're for you. Comparable in size to a G19 but a little heavier. Rotating barrel is nice, follow up shots feel faster, not as much muzzle rise. Is going to feel weird at first cause the recoil impulse is a little different. I'd swap in a D mainspring if you pick one up, (they're sold out on Brownells right now, I have an extra, let me know if you need it) to lighten out the DA pull and you're golden. I'm getting the slide on mine cerekoted right now, that was the biggest complaint I had. The polycoat or whatever they use on there isn't great. You can rub it off with a rag and gun oil. However, it's a cheap gun that works and is accurate so if you don't mind refinishing it later on down the road it's not an issue. I should be getting mine back in a few days and I'll throw some pictures up here once I do.

Thanks, I'd appreciate the pics.
I'm not going to run right out and get one, but I think that it made its way into the rotation.

I have *seriously* considered the Cougar but lack of suitable holsters for my needs was a deal-killer. Sigh...

The good thing about the rail less models is that from what I've been told they'll fit all the Beretta 8000 and Mini Cougar holsters. Comp Tac makes a MTAC for the Mini.

I got an 8040 back when Beretta was making them.  Good gun; a bit wide; grip shape is a little different from the 92 series.

I have a Kramer IWB #2 for it as it makes it way into the carry rotation every now and then.  Finding a holster for it was not that hard back then.

Carried one for over 10 years. Holsters are hard to come by, but there are plenty of models out there.

I missed retiring the gun, but it was getting worn. About 25k through her and now she is the bedside gun.
