I could be wrong but I think one was a single stack and one a hi cap(8 vs 13).

Does one have a De-Cocking Saftey, & the other not?

Most likely some internal changes, ala` the 92F & 92FS.
The Model 87F had a 7-shot mag, according to the Blue Book.
The Model 87 Target is a much different (and more expensive) animal.

Yeah...., your probably right!
The 92FS has a large head hammer pin to block the slides rearward travel in case of caistrophic failure..., where as the older 92F does not!
Most likely the same with the 84's

I have an 84FS, but can't remember what the difference was. I thought it was something with the safety. I do know that with mine you can decock it by pushing the safety on.
