So I just picked up a new 92A1 (traded an XD9) and I absolutely love it. This thing is awesome. My question is, has anyone had any issues mounting Surefire lights? I have an X300 that fit perfectly on the XD but wants nothing to do with the Beretta. It is super tight requiring a lot of muscle it get it on. It scrapes plastic off the light's rails and I'm pretty sure I could fire it without being secured in the notches and it wouldn't move. I've tried all of the included mounting hardware. This just doesn't seem right to me.

Thanks

Edited for spelling, can't type on a phone, apparently

Either you're not using the correct hardware the correct way or you've got something that's out of spec.  I mounted a Surefire X400 on my 92A1 and it fit perfectly.  I did have to fiddle around with it a little while (and I too thought it didn't fit at first) because it is a pain but I promise it will go right on once you get it lined up just right.  Assuming everything is correct of course.  You can get it, good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I'll look at it some more the next change I get.  I don't have it with me now, but IIRC, it seemed almost like the groove-to-bottom distance on the pistol was too great to allow clearance (or the rails on the light too short to reach).  I think I tried removing all of the interchangeable mounting options and it slid on okay.  It would really surprise me if either were out of spec, but who knows I guess.

On mine it was the hardware already on the Surefire that fit my 92A1 so maybe it might be the same on yours.

I have a TLR-1s on my 92a1 and it fits like a glove.

So I got a chance to screw around with it some more yesterday.  I switched back to the standard mount.  It was still way tighter that in should be, but I took it on and off probably 10 times and the plastic rails seem to have "worn in", because it fits about right now.  Still doesn't slide on and off like it did on the XD, but I'm satisfied with the fit.  Thanks for the advice.

Cool, glad you got it to work, the Surefire stuff is expensive but awesome.

Rails can be just a tad out of spec. I use an insight m3 on my M9A1 and my Glocks. Yet, the darn thing won't fit on my Sig 226 Combat. Go figure.
