I carry Win 127Gr+p+ in my g26, along with a back up mag full of Doubletap 124gr+p Speer gold dot. The loudest crack that g26 makes is with Corbon +p ammo. The Corbon is actually hotter with their +p variant ammo versus the Winchester+p+
Go figure?

If you feel you need to go with a 9mm +P+ round to get the performance you need you might consider going to a Glock 40 as at +P+ levels, your 9mm has more recoil than a comparably framed 40 plus a pistol generating much more chamber pressure than even the 10mm round.

Something to consider.

True, but aren't Glock 9mm's designed to handle NATO 9mm?

Also figure most people don't put more than a few hundred rounds of their carry ammo through the gun, and i doubt you will ever do any damage to the gun.

Plus most buy 9mm's so they can shoot a lot, based on cheaper ammo.

I shoot NATO 9mm and Winchester Ranger 127gr+P+ and 147gr. The only stuff I wont shoot thru my G17, 34, 19 and 26 are the 9mm+P+ SMG rounds that were floating around dirt cheap a few months ago. I don't think they'd damage a Glock and lots of guys said they used them, I just didn't see the point when I have a boatload of 9mm NATO by Winchester.

I also handload some very hot 9mm VV 3N37 powder JHP for yucks and never had a problem--gets a 95gr JHP going 1580fps from my G17--no problems.

So--shoot away with the Winchester Ranger 127gr+P+. FWIW, my G17 groups like a rifle at 20yrds rested with the Ranger 147--one ragged hole of 1.5" YMMV

Assuming the individual in question is professional enough to carry one, of course.....

Not in my experience. The heavier bullet in the .40 makes the felt recoil stouter than any 9mm, IMO. I also doubt that a +p 9mm has more chamber pressure than a full power 10mm.

Well then, you'd be wrong.

The SAAMI max chamber pressure for a std 9mm round is is 35,000psi (same as the max for the .40s&w).  Their max chamber pressure spec for a 10mm is 37,500psi and their max chamber pressure spec for a 9mm+P is 38,500psi.

SAAMI doesn't recognize a 9mm+P+, but because it is loaded to an even higher pressure than the 9mm+P, the facts are that the little 9mm with either + round is the highest pressure cartridge of the 3 noted.

Same round I carry in my 19. Good choice.

I've shot about 400 rounds of Winchester 127grain +p+ though my G19 with no problems.

I'm not saying that the +P+ ammo will hurt your Glock, I'm saying that if you decide to go to a 40,000psi range ammo (remember, the .40, like std 9mm ammo is SAAMI spec'd at 37,500psi) then you have recoil issues with your 9mm that you don't have with a std pressure 9mm.

I've only personally compared the rounds in the subcompact size Glocks (G26 & G27) along with the .357Sig in a G33, and while the G33 had the most felt recoil, the G26 with 124grn+P+ had more felt recoil than the 180grn Speer GDs in a G27.

We all 4 (3 subcompact Glock owners and I) agreed that the 180grn G27 was the best choice for follow-up shooting given those 3 choices of caliber and ammo selection.  Facts are that the higher felt recoil of +P+ 9mm ammo eliminates any follow-up shot advantage it has over the .40 and you're shooting almost a 32% lighter bullet (124 vs. 180grn).

However, to each their own.
