Greets all.  Got a question for the AL members.  Can/will any of you AL folks give me a rundown on how hard it is to get a CCW in AL?  I know it is a 'May Issue' state.  Just wondering how much hassel Im going to have trying to get my AL card.  I am licenesed in MS, but just moved over here for work.

I dont really have any other reason to carry other than it is my right, and want to be able to remain armed.

Thanks
Hero

I live in Jefferson County (Birmingham) and went Monday of last week and she told me to call back Friday and she would let me know if I was approved or not. Unfortunatley I was too busy at work to call so I have to wait until Tomorrow to call.

If I am approved then all I have to do is go in and pay my 7.50 and be done with it.

Next step is purchase my Springer XD Sup-Compact .40.

Regards,
JD

Cool.  Sounds straight forward enought.  As soon as I get all my 'paperwork' changed over to my new AL address, Ill go in and get my ccw for AL.

Thanks for the reply.

Hero, I'm in Mobile and all I had to do was go to the county sheriff's dept. and apply--they take your pic and application, give you a temp (paper) card, and the real one arrives in the mail a week later. I've had mine since I was 21.

Called yesterday and they told me to come in and pick it up. Took all of about 2 mins. Here in Jefferson County they don't even take you picture. Hell I actually still have a Mobile address on me DL and they didn't even as about the discrepency in my address. Oh well good for me now that I have my CCW.
